Starting at the Beginning

This is far from the beginning, but it's a fine place to start.

I arrived in San Pablo de Heredia, Costa Rica on New Year's eve.  Costa Rica is nicknamed Crossroads of Central America - appropriate on a couple of levels as the blog name for my first trip south of Mexico at age 62, looking for work, adventure and Spanish fluency.

Today actually, in addition to a phone and colones (local currency) I was looking for intimate apparel.  Because the panties I bought in Bellingham for my trip disappeared between the laundry and bedroom, I’m here in Heredia looking for tengas or bloomers ( really)  This captured my attention in a store window on the way to the bank.

Whether I purchased these bloomers is not pertinent to this blog, but I thought you would at least want to see them.

Today I stood in lots of lines and experienced some heat exhaustion.  Cool shower back at my B&B, time in the garden, and figuring out my new camera.
